i was in prone position for 17 hours as i had lung failure, when the staff turned me to supine(on the front) i had a massive pressure ulcer over my eyebrow, nothing was done to help me i also had 3 on my mouth, i have got terrible scars now and my eyebrow has no hair on it the scar is all of the length of the eyebrow, and my eye has a problem also, im going for compensation so i can have plastic surgery done to get rid of the scars because people think i have been in a car crash
These videos should be mandatory for "all" healthcare workes in every department because just about all move patients. Its rediculous in this day and time to still have so many preventable pressure ulcers. I'm glad Medicaid has that policy for payment. Where I worked before, the staff was too busy watching Geri Springer, talking on the phone, and smoking outside to care. I think partly because the didn't really understand.
pressure sores are different from other sores most time ps come from sitting or laying to long
hi i was in prone for 17 hours and was critical when they turned me over i had 4 presse ulcers one was the whole of my left eyebrow which i have a full scar there now and no eyebrow and my eye jutters when i turn my head so i have to see a specialist at the hospital the other 3 ulcers were caused by the ET Ties moved and split my lips open badly, and now have scars on my mouth, but the worst is my eyebrow people think i have been in a car crash when i tell them no i was intensive care
Thank you. Very well explained.
Thank you very much for this video. As a trained nurse , I teach students nurses within my nursing setting. I will recommend them this video. thank you .
Wow, the speaker explains things so well. I read about 4-5 articles so far on pressure ulcers and no one thus far has explained it as good as the speaker here. I love the examples too, that makes a big difference in understanding. Im a physician (geriatric fellow), and this really enhances my understanding. Wish i had these type of teachers in college and medical school.
Yer, Youtube only give us short slots. The interventions bit is later on the DVD. If you would like the full versions you can have these for covering costs,
